| NeT-ArT offers various services
and free tools
for artists promotion. First of all, we can exhibit your artworks
on our website, showing your art to italian and international audience.
After 5 years in promoting the arts on the web, we have verified a great
difference of results among artists who simply show their artworks online,
and artists who actively work around their web sites and constantly update
and promote their pages.
So we decided to modify our admission's rules to open a "Virtual
Studio" in the NeT-ArT
Gallery. Besides our traditional quality based artworks selection,
we added some rules regarding artist's knowledge of the web and a little
of webmastering knowledge:
-
you must have an internet access
-
you must have your artworks as .jpg files, and you must know how to modify
their size (in pixels)
-
you must be able to build webpages, coding in html language or using an
Editor (Netscape Composer, Microsoft FrontPage, etc.)
-
you must be able to upload files to a web server using FTP software (WSFTP,
etc.)
-
you must be able to promote your webpages (search engine submission, etc.)
-
you undertake to frequently update your pages
-
you must have an email address and you have to quickly answer to visitor's
messages and requests
-
you undertake to promote NeT-ArT when you organize an exhibition, printing
our Logo in your usual publications (Press Releases, brochures, catalogs,
etc.).
-
you undertake to participate in interactive events organized by NeT-ArT
(according to your possibilities and time)
-
you have to cooperate with other artists and collaborators, according to
your possibilities and knowledge)
If you don't match these requirements, you can be helped by your
friend or collaborator, who will be your webmaster. We are building
a Forum to facilitate contacts between artists and webmasters. Or you can
learn
webmastering and web design in the Education
area.
If accepted in the Gallery, you will obtain a Directory on NeT-ArT server
(www.net-art.it/yourdirectory) with full FTP access, and lots of other
features
and utilities.
We accept no more than 4 artist each month, so we are very selective.
The Service is free!
If you are not able to build webpages (and
you don't have a webmaster who can do it for you), but your artwork is
accepted by NeT-ArT Direction, you can:
-
exhibit your artworks for
free in the Group
Gallery: you must only have your artworks
as .jpg files, and you will simply upload your image to the gallery via
a web control panel
-
open your "Virtual Studio" in the NeT-ArT
Gallery: we will build your pages, and you will have
to pay for something you could obtain for free (see description
and price). We want to discourage the use of the web as a simple catalog
for your artworks, and we work to make the web a true interactive place
If you already have a website, you can try lots of useful
services and utilities, listed in the Free
Section of NeT-ArT and, in any case, you can request your "Virtual
Studio" in the Gallery, even if we will pay more attention to the requests
of artists not yet represented on the web.
Selling your artworks
NeT-ArT don't intermediate between artist and buyer: the artist will
be directly contacted by the buyer via email, fixing prices, deciding
payment options and providing shipping.
NeT-ArT do not require commission fee for sales of artworks
showed in our site, but we accept free donations (artworks donation too):
remember that many galleries require commissions till 50%!!
Other Services
Many artists ask us to completely manage their web activity: large personal
web sites, web design, online shopping systems, web promotion, search engine
registrations, etc.
Other artists request non-web services: organization of exhibitions
in real gallery, traditional promotion (press releases, mailing), etc.
See the Services
Area for these requests.
Attention: if you need someone who constantly and continuously hold
your relations with buyers, galleries, press, web sites, etc., you will
have to pay a personal art-manager, and you will fix the cost with him.
Currently we don't provide this service, but we are building a Forum to
facilitate contacts between artists and art-manager.
